Job Description

Clinical Intern, Intensive Treatment Team (Homebased and STAY SAFE Programs) Position Summary Join WellPower’s Intensive Treatment team and gain hands‑on clinical experience providing trauma‑informed, culturally responsive mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families. This internship is embedded within Homebased and STAY SAFE services, which deliver short‑term, stabilization‑focused interventions for youth experiencing acute mental health needs, including suicidal ideation or recent suicide attempts. Services are primarily delivered in homes, clinics, schools, and other community settings. The intern will have the opportunity to provide individual therapy, family therapy, crisis support, safety planning, psychoeducation, and case management services under close supervision. This is a non‑paid student intern opportunity. Duties & Functions Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to diagnostic formulation under supervision Provide individual and family therapy in home, clinic, and community settings Support youth and families experiencing suicidal ideation or recent suicide attempts Participate in safety planning and crisis stabilization interventions Deliver psychoeducation related to mental health, coping skills, and family systems Engage in case management and coordinate with schools, medical providers, and community partners Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team Complete clinical documentation in accordance with WellPower standards Attend team meetings, case consultations, and internal trainings Maintain a trauma‑informed environment of wellbeing Perform other duties as assigned The intern will receive a minimum of one hour per week of individual clinical supervision and may participate in group supervision, case consultation, and agency‑wide trainings. Training in evidence‑informed approaches, including specific suicide interventions, will be provided as appropriate to the intern role. Requirements & Qualifications Master’s level students in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related clinical field Second‑year students preferred Interest in child, adolescent, and family mental health required Hours Minimum of 10 hours per week, with 15 to 20 hours preferred, along with a 9‑to‑12‑month commitment aligned with the academic calendar EEO Statement WellPower is proud to be an equal‑opportunity employer.
