Job Description

About Us

Coleman Johns is a modern real estate, marketing, and media brand based in Nashville, founded in 2022. We operate The Coleman Johns Group, a top-producing real estate team specializing in luxury properties, and Coleman Johns Studio, our in-house creative team producing cinematic, story-driven content.

Our YouTube channels reach hundreds of thousands of viewers. Our content has directly driven millions in closed real estate volume. We don't treat content as marketing support — it's the engine of our business. And we're looking for a Creative Director to own that engine.

The Role

You're not filling a seat. You're building a department.

We need someone who can walk into a $5M listing and see the story before the camera turns on. Someone who can take a founder vlog from "day in the life" to something people genuinely follow. Someone who doesn't just edit — they set the creative standard for everything our brand puts into the world.

You'll lead content vision and execution across multiple YouTube channels, social platforms, and a growing portfolio of brand properties. You'll have a dedicated videographer with DSLR and drone capability already on the team — your job is to direct, elevate, and expand what we're capable of producing.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll still shoot and edit, especially early on. But the reason we're hiring you is for what's between your ears — the ideas, the taste level, the ability to look at what we're doing and make it undeniably better.

What You'll Own

  • Creative vision and content strategy across all Coleman Johns channels (property tours, relocation content, founder vlogs, and brand campaigns)
  • Directing and managing a videographer to execute on your shot lists, storyboards, and creative briefs
  • Editing long-form YouTube content built for storytelling, retention, and search performance
  • Short-form content strategy and production (Reels, Shorts, TikToks) — not just cutting clips, but understanding what performs and why
  • Brand visual identity — thumbnails, graphics, on-screen presence, and the overall look and feel of Coleman Johns Studio
  • Content calendar ownership — pitching ideas, planning shoots, and keeping output consistent
  • Performance tracking — understanding analytics and using data to sharpen creative decisions
  • Building and eventually growing the creative team as volume scales

You Should Have

  • A portfolio or reel that shows genuine creative range — not just pretty footage, but storytelling with pacing, emotion, and purpose
  • Experience leading or directing video shoots (not just operating a camera)
  • Strong editing skills in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus)
  • Understanding of YouTube as a platform — how search, retention, and packaging work together
  • Comfort on set with high-end properties, founder-led content, and fast-moving production days
  • A pulse on social media trends without being a slave to them
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you treat this like your own brand, not a 9-to-5

Nice to Have

  • Real estate, luxury, or lifestyle content experience
  • Drone certification (Part 107)
  • Motion graphics or animation capability
  • Experience scaling a creative team or managing freelancers

What We Offer

  • A proven content-to-revenue model — your work directly drives business, and we can show you exactly how
  • A videographer already on the team ready to execute under your direction
  • Creative ownership — this isn't a factory, it's a brand you'll help shape
  • Performance bonuses tied to content milestones and business impact
  • The opportunity to build and lead a growing creative department
  • Paid time off and a flexible, high-growth culture

Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 annually depending on experience, plus performance bonuses tied to content milestones and business results.

Job Type: Full-time Location: Brentwood, TN (In person, required) Expected hours: 40 per week
