Position Overview: As a Commercial or Marine Insulator, you will be responsible for applying, removing, and repairing insulation on various industrial piping systems and components. Your attention to detail and high-quality workmanship will be critical to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities: - Apply molded pipe sections to steam pipes such as main steam, auxiliary steam, HPD, and LPD.
- Install temperature and block insulation on equipment, including turbines, pumps, and similar components.
- Install, remove, and repair molded insulation such as calcium silicate and template, along with finishing cement on piping systems of varying sizes (e.g., 1x1, 2x1, 3x2, 5x2, 8x3, 10x3, 24x4).
- Ensure high-quality workmanship by cutting accurate miters, applying fiberglass cloth smoothly, and using proper adhesive application techniques while protecting adjacent surfaces.
- Understand and apply insulation materials for different temperature ranges (hot, cold) on pipes, tanks, ducts, machinery, and hulls.
Qualifications: - Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience as a Commercial or Marine Insulator.
- Skills: Expertise in installing and repairing molded insulation, including calcium silicate and temperature. Knowledge of insulation techniques for a variety of industrial systems.
- Quality Focus: Demonstrated ability to achieve high-quality workmanship with attention to detail in insulation and finishing processes.
Work Environment: You will work in commercial and industrial environments, performing insulation tasks on various piping systems, equipment, and vessels. Projects may involve work in shipyards, aboard ships, or industrial facilities.
