They may also support cable pulling, terminations, testing, and documenting cable runs for the Naval Nuclear Laboratory mission./ppCandidates must have an active Secret or L security clearance to qualify./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliInstall equipment enclosures, patch panels, and equipment (network - LAN/SAN, server, storage, UPS, etc.) as directed/liliInstall grounding cables for equipment enclosures, equipment, and cable trays/liliInstall cable trays, J Hooks, raised floor cable trays, and related accessories/liliInstall intra-building backbone cabling/liliInstall horizontal cabling/liliInstall work area outlets, faceplates, jacks, and patch cables/liliRemove kick-plates and pedestals on cubicles to install network cabling/liliOrganize, form, and dress cables/liliTerminate Category 3, 5e, 6, and 6a UTP cables on patch panels and modular plugs/liliTerminate 62.5-micron multimode, 50-micron multimode, and single-mode fiber using ST, SC, and LC connectors (anaerobic adhesive system or Corning UniCam system)/liliDiagnose and correct copper and fiber optic cable issues/liliReplace failed equipment and install new equipment as directed/liliComplete work orders and network trouble tickets/liliGroom network enclosures and equipment as directed/liliInventory material as directed/liliPerform certification testing of UTP cables (Category 3, 5e, 6, and 6a), fiber (multimode and single-mode), and coaxial cables/liliDocument test results as required/liliLabel and document network equipment, cable paths, rooms, and cabinets/liliMaintain configuration/control records for copper and fiber patch panels and cable locations/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulli5+ years experience in cabling or network technician work/liliQualified to install, terminate, and conduct certification testing of Category 3, 5e, 6, and 6a unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable, multimode and single-mode fiber cable/liliKnowledge in the application of the following structured cable standards and codes: ulliANSI/TIA/EIA 568-B/liliANSI/TIA/EIA 569/liliANSI/TIA/EIA 606/liliANSI/TIA/EIA 607/liliNFPA 70/li/ul/liliProficient with Fluke DSX-8000 copper/fiber tester/liliProficient with Fluke OFP-100-QI OptiFiber Pro Optical Time Domain Reflectometer/liliWriting and speaking clearly and concisely about technical topics/liliActive Secret or L security clearance/li/ulh3About IMG/h3pFounded in 1987, IMG is a leading small business that exemplifies competence, integrity and follow-through.
