The New York City Police Department is seeking undergraduate college students for our 2026 Summer Internship Program. Summer Interns are employed in various NYPD Commands for up to 13 weeks between June and September 2026. Intern duties may include the following:
Interns will be matched to assignments based on their major. Work location: Various work locations in New York City. Hours/Shift: Full-Time; 35 hours per week

Minimum qualifications: As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year). Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.
Residency requirement: New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
