A Brief Overview CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients. The Locksmith is responsible for skilled repair and service of locks, electronic access equipment, and related hardware. The position may also involve making key duplicates. The Locksmith must be able to perform and/or assist in any routine or emergency function related to lock servicing. This role deals with the mechanical actions and correct operations of all locks—key or keyless—as well as electronic access equipment. What You Will Do Perform preventative and/or corrective maintenance on new and existing locks, locking controls, doors, and other equipment in accordance with work orders or direction from Facility Manager and/or Supervisor. Install, repair and maintain pneumatic locking systems, door positioning sensors, electric door, and manual and electronic panic device openers. Install, repair and maintain electromagnetic latching systems; wire and install card reading and scanning devices. Establish key lock and related systems that permit controlled access to buildings and ensure security. Clean, lubricate and adjust locks; check keys and locks for wear and repair or replace them. Respond to emergency requests regarding problems with building locking devices and services within established standards of promptness. Perform required administrative tasks such as work order documentation and general record keeping. All work performed must conform to contractual agreements, quality and accuracy standards, and OSHA codes and regulations. Conduct preventive and corrective lock and safe maintenance work orders. Maintain all required records and logs. Submit clear, legible, and complete information on all work performed. Enter data into the computerized maintenance management system. Stay abreast of advanced locksmith technologies and trends. Follow tool control policies, lock control policies, and all OSHA guidelines. Communicate all task and project timelines in a timely manner to Facility Manager and/or Supervisor. Ensure proper key control is established and followed by all staff. Complete all required compliance, safety, and developmental training as assigned. Assist in training other technicians and provide mentorship, oversight and direction. Complete all documentation required in compliance with CGL's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 1–3 years of locksmith or maintenance experience in commercial environments preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Strong organizational skills in a fast‑paced environment. Completes all documentation required in compliance with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and desire to succeed. Provides outstanding customer service to meet client needs. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Hold licenses/certifications required by local, state, and federal regulations. Certifications may be required. Self‑motivated, multitasker who can prioritize and demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in client interactions. Willingness to continue education related to certifications based on current technology for security locking systems.
